Advoc Europe was founded in 1990 by a number of independent law firms seeking to service their client's requirements for lawyers outside of their own countries. The founder members were looking for like minded independent law firms who would service their clients needs based on a commitment and quality code, which is accepted by all members.

As the world has turned into a global village, seen from a business point of view, and clients demands for services in worldwide markets has increased Advoc Europe contributed to the foundation of Advoc Asia and Advoc Latin America.

In addition, the Advoc family has formed strong relationships with law firms and networks in the USA. Advoc Europe is managed by a coordinator, a Board of six members, and a Company Secretary.

The President and Coordinator is Mr Niels Opstrup, Attorney, DELACOUR Law Firm, Denmark, e-mail: no@delacour.dk The Tresurer is Mr. Hans-Jürgen Lappat, Attorney, Lappat Schütt, Germany, e-mail: hj.lappat@LSV-legal.com A minimum of two meetings are held each year by Advoc Europe, i.e., an Annual General Meeting and a Conference in the spring, as well as an open Board Meeting in the autumn. At these meetings, the Advoc members meet to discuss matter of shared interest and to develop their relationship and methods for providing services to their respective clients.
